Oro Agri International had another successful and productive time at the Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) that took place in Basel, Switzerland 19-21 October. Organised jointly by the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), the ABIM is internationally recognised as the global platform for the biocontrol industry and therefore an ideal event for Oro Agri to have a presence.

“We have been Platinum sponsors of the ABIM event for three years and have seen it grow from strength-to-strength,” says Carol Pullen, General Manager Europe, Oro Agri. “This year there were well over 800 registered delegates with a vibrant exhibition at the core of the congress. Many more multi national companies were in evidence this year which seems to reflect their increasing interest in biocontrol solutions for plant protection.”

“From our point of view the ABIM conference is one of the best trade shows that we attend. It is a unique event in the biocontrol industry and provides us with an ideal opportunity to network and meet with other biocontrol companies. As well as a booth in the exhibition we had a separate meeting room to enable us to hold meetings with our European distributors. This year Dr. Anne Turnbough, Director, Global Compliance and Regulatory Affairs for Oro Agri  in the USA, as well as members of our legal, technical and regulatory teams were present which was very beneficial when meeting our distributors and potential future collaborators from across the globe,” says Carol.

“Oro Agri would like to congratulate IBMA – which has been representing manufacturers of biocontrol solutions for 20 years ­– on another successful ABIM event which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. We shall be looking forward to the next conference which takes place at the Congress Centre, Basel on 24-26 October 2016,” concludes Carol.
