Gene Boersma loves his job. He’s been a Syngenta Seed Advisor™ for 13 years. Not only does he have the opportunity to interact with customers every day and help solve problems, he gets to work with products that he stands behind.

After 13 years working as a Syngenta Seed Advisor, Gene Boersma continues to stand behind Golden Harvest Corn and NK Soybeans. All photos are the property of Syngenta unless otherwise noted.

The Harvest Chasers caught up with Boersma to gather some insight into what’s working well in his area. Two of his favorite recommendations are NK® Soybeans S20-T6 brand and Golden Harvest® hybrid G93H90 brand.

NK Soybeans S20-T6 brand is his highest selling soybean variety. He said customers really like it because “it’s a go anywhere variety.” He also mentioned that NK Soybeans S20-T6 brand has great standability, delivers consistent yields across different soil types and does a great job against white mold.

As for Golden Harvest Corn, among the hybrids he strongly recommends is Golden Harvest hybrid G93H90 brand because the hybrid is a drier corn that handles the region’s variable soil types well. Other notable products include Golden Harvest hybrid G99Z33 Artesian™ brand. Boersma said this water-optimized Agrisure Artesian® hybrid works well on most soil types in the area and delivers a very consistent yield. He also talked about NK Soybeans S13-H5 brand, which yielded nearly 70 bushels per acre in 2015. According to Boersma, those yields are better than anything he’s seen before by at least 5 bushels.
