Canada - Bayer launches InVigor Choice, new canola hybrid for the 2016 season - InVigor Choice LR250 is the first canola hybrid to contain both leading herbicide trait technologies, LibertyLink and Genuity Roundup Ready, in one seed

InVigor Choice LR250

Bayer is pleased to announce the launch of InVigor® Choice hybrid LR250,  the first canola hybrid of its kind that provides the exceptional yield performance of InVigor with both LibertyLink® and Genuity® Roundup Ready® trait technologies included. This evolutionary InVigor hybrid system will provide growers with the ability to control the toughest weeds on their farm without sacrificing yield.

“For years, growers have been asking for an InVigor with the flexibility to use Roundup®. I’m excited to say, it’s here, with InVigor Choice LR250,” says James Humphris, Manager, Oilseed Crops – Traits with Bayer. “Though InVigor hybrid canola breeding will remain focused on LibertyLink-only hybrids, we’re now able to offer growers another valuable tool for weed management through InVigor Choice.”

With the late registration of InVigor Choice LR250, supply will be limited for 2016. Growers are encouraged to contact their preferred retailer to access this new technology. “We are excited to finally be able to offer this evolutionary hybrid canola to Canadian growers,” says Humphris. “It won’t fit every cropping rotation, but it gives growers another valuable choice to help maximize their operation.”

Bayer is committed to the sustainability of Canadian agriculture and contributes substantial investments towards the research and development of new InVigor hybrids annually. As the global leader in canola, our goal is to provide growers with the latest innovation and technology to solve their evolving farming challenges, and help realize their opportunities.
