Arysta LifeScience issues 2(ee) recommendations on Rancona family of products

Cary, North Carolina, USA
February 8, 2016

Arysta LifeScience North America recently announced the issuance of Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) Section 2(ee) Recommendations for four products in the RANCONA® Fungicide family. The recommendations will cover distribution and use only with the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois for the following products:

  • RANCONA 3.8 Seed Treatment Fungicide, for use on beans and peas (succulent or dried) as a seed treatment to control Ascochyta seedling blight
  • RANCONA CTS Seed Protectant, for use on dried shelled/succulent/edible podded beans and peas as a seed treatment to control Asochyta seedling blight
  • RANCONA Summit Seed Protectant, for use on dried shelled and succent/edible podded beans and peas as a seed treatment to control Ascochyta seedling blight
  • RANCONA V 100 Pro FS Seed Protectant, for use on dried shelled beans as a seed treatment to control Ascochyta seedling blight.

The RANCONA recommendations come whil no products currently are labelled for this use in key pea-growing states. More than 25 fungi, bacteria and viruses can affect field peas, and the RANCONA family of products targets one of the most devastating diseases for pea growers, Ascochyta blight. This disease can also occur in garden beans.

"Growers in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois will welcome the 2(ee) recommendations of these four RANCONA seed treatments," said Chris Wooley, Marketing Manager US - Seed Treatment, Arysta LifeScience. "RANCONA products have both contact and systemic activity to help control yield-robbing diseases like Ascochyta."
