Tyrian Diagnostics Ltd. and Bayer CropScience sign manufacturing and supply agreement for ReadRite agricultural diagnostic tests

Sydney, Australia
June 16, 2010

Tyrian Diagnostics Limited announced today that it had executed a Manufacturing & Supply Agreement with Bayer CropScience AG to supply its ReadRite agricultural diagnostic tests.

Under the agreement, Tyrian will be the exclusive supplier of finished agricultural diagnostic products. These products are being developed using Tyrian’s DiagnostIQ™ test platform,
licensed to Bayer CropScience under an earlier agreement. The ReadRite product portfolio currently includes the RR-AA test for wheat quality which was launched in Canada last year. A second crop diagnostic product which has successfully completed proof-of-concept studies is now undergoing extensive field trials. The first test kits to be supplied under this
new agreement are destined for sale in the Canadian market in the second half of 2010.

Jerry Outram, Project Manager New Business Development at Bayer CropScience: “This agreement illustrates our commitment to innovative solutions for cereal growers worldwide –
from seed to harvest – and confirms our status as a strong technology provider.”

Since entering collaboration and license agreements in 2008, Bayer CropScience and Tyrian have been working together to develop and commercialize agricultural test products
using DiagnostIQ. To date, Tyrian has manufactured small quantities of these products inhouse, while at the same time working to outsource the commercial manufacture of higher
volumes of products. The company is in the final stages of establishing an accredited contract manufacturer for ramping up production of its DiagnostIQ-based products.

Jenny Harry, CEO of Tyrian, said “We are pleased to report this further commitment from Bayer CropScience towards the commercialisation of the ReadRite products. Tyrian
currently earns royalties on sales of products under its Licence Agreement with Bayer CropScience and will now increase its revenue on this product line through a margin on
manufacturing.”

DiagnostIQ™ is a patented diagnostic test platform suitable for the development of antibody-based, Point-of-Need diagnostic tests. The platform is simple to use, rapid, robust, sensitive, and suitable for analysing complex samples. A combination of features provides a versatile platform for use with a variety of sample types and products for
medical, veterinary and agriculture applications. The DiagnostIQ test can provide a visual result and/or be used with a portable digital reader when quantitative test results are
required. Bayer has obtained an exclusive worldwide license from Tyrian for two application areas of the DiagnostIQ platform.

Tyrian Diagnostics (ASX: TDX) is an Australian-based company that develops and commercializes rapid point-of-need diagnostics.

The first product is a point-of-need diagnostic for measuring wheat quality, ReadRite Alpha Amylase, developed in partnership with Bayer CropScience. .
Tyrian also has expertise in discovering and developing biomarkers of disease as targets for diagnostic tests. Tyrian’s primary internal programme is the development of its patented
biomarkers for molecular and protein-based diagnostic tests for active tuberculosis (TB) and the company intends to seek partners for final development and marketing of these tests.
