Win the opportunity to participate in Canada’s premier agricultural conference - Be one of the Canadian Seed Trade Association’s Future Influencers at GrowCanada 2016 - Apply now to be a Future Influencer at GrowCanada and make a real contribution to the future of agriculture

Canada
September 21, 2016

The Canadian Seed Trade Association will sponsor two “Future Influencers” who will be featured at Canada’s premiere agricultural conference:GrowCanada 2016. This is an exceptional opportunity for students to meet the leaders of some of the world’s most important agriculture and food companies and organizations, participate in industry discussions, and learn more about agriculture. Future Influencers play a central role in the conference, as they provide their opinions and views to an audience of 550 conference delegates after each session. The Future Influencers have been one of the highlights of the conference, and the challenges issued by past Future Influencers have truly affected the thoughts and actions of some of our country’s most influential CEOs and Managers.

GrowCanada® provides a platform to connect with industry leaders from across the country, explore cutting edge insight and build a stronger and more vibrant Canadian agricultural sector that ultimately contributes to a better world. The theme for the 2016 GrowCanada® conference is Up to the Challenge. As Canada gets set to celebrate its 150 anniversary, we reflect on how agriculture has met the challenge of producing safe and affordable food for Canadians and a number of other countries during that time. Looking ahead to the next 150 years, Canada's agriculture industry is up to the challenge of continuing to be adaptive and resilient to get food from the farm to the table and doing so in a way that's good for the environment and the next generation.

The Opportunity:

Date: GrowCanada® 2016 will take place from December 6-8, in Ottawa, ON.

Who is eligible: Any student in Grades 11 and 12 as well as students attending agricultural college or university are welcome to apply. We are looking for confident and enthusiastic students who can clearly express their views and who can challenge delegates at the conference.

CSTA covers conference registration, and the cost of travel and accommodations at the Westin Ottawa Hotel, 11 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, ON, for two winners and their chaperones.

How to enter: Students with an interest in this opportunity are asked to apply with a 500-word (maximum) email answering the following question: Canadian farmers have always led world efforts in producing safe and affordable food for consumption at home and around the world. In your opinion, which agricultural innovation is best positioned to help Canada be up to the challenge of sustainably providing sufficient food, fuel and fibre for future generations?

Send your email to CSTA before October 24, 2016, to tneuman@cdnseed.org. Applicants will be contacted for a phone interview in early November.

For more information: Contact Teresa Neuman, Manager, Stakeholder Relations, Canadian Seed Trade Association, at 613-829-9527, or tneuman@cdnseed.org.
