Indiana Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) now offers a Bioassay Herbicide Test and a Lateral Flow Strip Test on Enlist™ corn hybrids which are resistant to the herbicide 2, 4-D. This broad-spectrum herbicide is used to control weed pressure in corn fields where an Enlist tolerant hybrid has been planted.
“At ICIA being a testing leader on the newest seed industry trait offerings is vital to proving our commitment to our customer-focused mission” says Alan Galbreth, CEO. Justin Milcarek, Bioassay Department Head adds, “ICIA was instrumental in working with Dow AgroSciences to develop an effective and more efficient testing procedure for the Enlist corn. Finding new and better ways to do things is essential to our ability to serve our customers.”
The new Bioassay test determines the percentage of tolerant seeds in an individual lot. The Lateral Flow Strip Test identifies the presence or absence of the trait from a bulk seed or tissue sample.
