Paradise Tomato Kitchens, a Louisville, Ky., tomato
sauce supplier to major restaurant and food service operators, has introduced
www.paradisetomato.com, the first
business-to- business eCommerce site linking a sauce manufacturer directly to restaurant operators. The link
means faster service that reduces shelf life for the signature sauces, giving operators the freshest possible sauce for
their customers.
"Operators can now create and manufacture a signature sauce specific to a restaurant's flavor profile, order it online,
and then very easily track all deliveries and costs," said Paradise CEO Ron Peters. "Not only are they getting a
customized sauce created especially for them, they're getting state- of-the-art distribution as well."
While giving operators the convenience to order "All-Season Fresh" signature tomato sauces directly from Paradise
24 hours a day, paradisetomato.com gives up-to-the minute information about order quantities and price, on-time
delivery status, and accounts receivable.
By speeding transactions and distribution communication, the site helps customers keep a consistent supply of
products while keeping their inventories at optimal sizes.
"Our customers were heavily involved in determining the capabilities and design of our site," said Paradise CEO Ron
Peters. "We take a lot of pride in the high level of customer service we provide, and we wanted our eCommerce
capability to reflect that."
Peters says his company's staff will continue to be personally involved in assisting customers on a daily basis.
"Paradisetomato.com was created to fulfill a need expressed by our customers for online B2B procurement. We
expect the efficiencies gained through our online capabilities to enhance the service we provide to them," he said.
Paradise Tomato Kitchens creates signature tomato sauce recipes for several of America's most recognized
restaurant chains, including six of the top 15 pizza chains. Paradise uses California tomatoes harvested when
they're perfectly ripe, assuring optimal flavor, aroma, color and consistency. Using its "All-Season Fresh" process,
Paradise creates fresh sauce year-round and packages it in flexible plastic pouches, rather than canning it once a
year. This year-round process also allows Paradise to add fresh spices to the sauce just before delivery, preventing
the flavor degradation that sometimes occurs during the shelf life of canned sauces.
Compared to cans, the flexible pouches provide higher yield and safety, reduced costs, less throwaway and mess,
and more storage space. Paradise also provides a high degree of personal service by offering culinary expertise and
menu development ideas to its customers.
