New Syngenta online wheat resource offers one-stop destination for agronomic solutions

Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
November 19, 2013

  • Comprehensive resource features solutions to help address challenges at each stage of the wheat growing season
  • Weed control, resistance management and minimizing the impact of drought conditions are among key areas of focus

With wheat harvest in the rear-view mirror and the thought of threatening springtime pests approaching, planning for next year is in full swing. With that in mind, Syngenta launches the “Tools to Grow More Wheat” agronomic resource: a one-stop destination for solutions to a season-long range of challenges.

The “Tools to Grow More Wheat” agronomic resource is located at: http://www.FarmAssist.com/WheatSolutions.

The resource features three primary categories to take growers from seed to harvest: Start Strong, Grow Strong and Yield Strong. Each of these includes sub-sections that outline different challenges faced by wheat growers, as well as Syngenta recommendations and best management practices to minimize damage and lost yield potential. The agronomic information is packaged into succinct, one-page “solution sheets” that can be downloaded and printed. They are also easily viewed on mobile and tablet devices, which gives growers the convenience to access solutions while in the field.

Solution sheets that include Syngenta recommendations are available to address the following topics:

  • Controlling grass and broadleaf weeds
  • Protecting against seedborne diseases such as Rhizoctonia, true loose smut and Pythium
  • Determining seeding rates
  • Minimizing the impact of drought conditions
  • Managing nutrients

“At Syngenta, we understand each growing season presents its own unique set of challenges,” said Darcy Pawlik, Syngenta cereals crop portfolio head, North America. “Our goal with the new agronomic resource is to provide solutions that enable farmers to grow profitable wheat.”
