Western Australia - emand high for mobile devices, precision agriculture workshops

Western Australia
December 23, 2013

A recent series of mobile device and precision agriculture (PA) training workshops attracted strong interest from Western Australian grain growers and consultants, and expressions of interest are invited for additional courses in 2014.

The events, held in December in Kellerberrin, Geraldton and Binnu, were hosted by the South East Premium Wheat Growers Association (SEPWA) and supported by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).

“The workshops upskill farmers, agronomists and local industry people so they can integrate mobile device technology into their grain production businesses,” SEPWA project officer Nigel Metz said.

“Participants are assisted in integrating mobile device technologies and simple, low-cost PA methods, with the courses catering for different skill levels from basic to advanced.

“If you have a local group of 10 to 15 people interested in having a course held in your area, contact me on nigel@sepwa.org.au.”
