USA - Bayer CropScience shares solutions to help growers achieve an abundant tomorrow - Experts on hand at Commodity Classic stress planning, preparation and protection to help ensure a successful growing season

San Antonio, Texxas, USA
February 27, 2014

Helping growers realize profitable harvests is the focus of  “One World to Grow On,” the interactive exhibit showcasing solutions from Bayer CropScience at the 2014 Commodity Classic. The exhibit provides technical information on key products as well as management tips for growers, all focused on the four pivotal decision-making stages in the growing season: Plan for Success, Establish a Healthy Crop, Maintain the Potential and Successful Harvest.

“We want our growers to leave Classic armed with the information they need to have a successful 2014 growing season,” said Jim Blome, president and CEO, Bayer CropScience North America. “Today’s successful grower expects us to deliver the integrated solutions they need to meet challenges like pest resistance head-on, and we are ready to help them have their best year ever.”

Key offerings featured will include:

Extending beyond the genetic tolerance available in many soybean varieties today, Bayer SeedGrowth has applied for EPA registration of ILeVO®, a revolutionary seed treatment that is intended to provide growers with additional protection against this troublesome disease, pending anticipated registration at the end of 2014. ILeVO would add onto the growing SeedGrowth™ portfolio, including the flagship solution Poncho®/VOTiVO®. Applied directly to the seed, Poncho/VOTiVO protects the whole plant, above and below ground, preventing damage to early-season seedlings and roots before pests can strike. At the booth, Bayer CropScience continues to showcase innovation with 3D-printed models of the revolutionary On Demand™ system.

Combining high-yielding elite genetics with a double herbicide-tolerant trait stack, these varieties offer growers outstanding performance and weed control options.

Launching in spring 2014, this new planter lubricant provides an alternative to standard talc and graphite lubricants and helps to reduce the potential risk of dust exposure to pollinators.

  • Diverse Portfolio of Weed Management Options

Control tough weeds in soybeans, canola, cotton and corn with the proven LibertyLink® system; in corn with Corvus® and Laudis®; and eliminate grasses competing with wheat crops with Huskie® Complete.

This weed management and stewardship program provides growers with important updates on managing the rotation of crops, traits and modes of action to help manage and prevent the spread of herbicide resistant species.

  • Flagship Brands

“One World to Grow On” also offers information on flagship brands, such as Stratego® YLD fungicide, which offers broad spectrum disease control for corn and soybeans. Early application of Stratego YLD between the V4 and V7 stages of corn offers convenience along with early season disease control and more complete plant coverage. Growers also can learn more about Capreno® postemergence corn herbicide and Prosaro® fungicide, which offers broad-spectrum control with excellent performance on both leaf and head diseases in wheat.

The primary focus of Bayer’s Bee Care Program is to foster collaboration and education among beekeepers and growers to share best stewardship practices. Bayer recognizes the importance of pollinators as sparkplugs of agriculture and is bringing its mobile bee care exhibit to Commodity Classic for attendees to learn more about Bayer’s efforts to support honey bee health. Growers are invited to drop by the Bayer Bee Care booth #4100 to learn more about our bee care initiatives.

Growers who collect stamps from every aspect of Bayer’s exhibit  will receive a Bayer USB car charger and will be eligible to enter a daily drawing for a 65-quart Yeti cooler. They also can share ideas and inspiration at anew interactive wall #LeaveABetterWorld.
