Clariva Complete Beans translates to 4 bu/A advantage in Iowa

After longtime NK® Soybeans grower Chris Hoey was invited to participate in a soybean cyst nematode (SCN) trial for the 2014 season, a soil test revealing low SCN pressure on his farm resulted in a rescinded invitation. Despite the reported low SCN pressure, his retailer encouraged him to conduct his own side-by-side trials with SCN-resistant NK varieties treated with Clariva Complete Beans seed treatment, a combination of separately registered products, and the same varieties treated with an insecticide/fungicide seed treatment.

The results were impressive: The seed treated with Clariva Complete Beans yielded 4 bu/A more than the seed treated with an insecticide/fungicide seed treatment.

“The plants were very similar at emergence,” Chris said. “And even at mid-season, there wasn’t much noticeable difference. But in the fall when we were combining them, the soybeans treated with Clariva Complete Beans had better health and greener stems — and yielded better. It took the combine more horsepower to harvest them!”

After experiencing such a significant yield advantage, Chris is looking forward to treating more of his seed with Clariva Complete Beans in 2015.
