The more than 300 varieties of the Mediterranea range of seeds are the result of 20 years of hard and careful work.

Our main goal, for both the present and future years, is to preserve unchanged the purity of the native standard varieties whose products have always been at the basis of the food of Mediterranean countries like Italy, Spain, Greece, France, and many others.

As a consequence of the continuous introduction of new seed varieties by many breeding companies, this important heritage of the Mediterranean tradition has progressively been neglected and finally put aside. New hybrid varieties are constantly taking its place.

These hybrids may be more uniform, more productive and more resistant to diseases, but they are also so anonymous, because they have no special history behind them and because they don't belong to the Mediterranean tradition.

By contrast, we have only been working on the old standard varieties. We have not modified them; on the contrary, we have consistently tried to recreate a high quality stockseed suitable for multiplication.

Among the many Mediterranean varieties, we decided to choose only the ones that would meet three basic requirements:

Among the most important ingredients of our traditional food you'll always find coloured and tasteful vegetables: think of the taste of red San Marzano tomatoes on a delicious "pizza napoletana", or of the bright green colour and intense flavour of basil leaves used to prepare the traditional "pesto alla genovese".

And what about the magic of the thousand colours in a mixed salad with chicory, lettuce and rocket?

We produce seeds because it's our job, but also because it is our passion. Our greatest desire is to ensure that these Mediterranean varieties are discovered again, appreciated and especially maintained for future generations.

We produce the seed of these Mediterranean varieties in two Italian regions called Emilia-Romagna and Marche. Both have weather conditions that are very suitable to seed production. Moreover, the temperate climate with long hot and dry summers enables us to grow seed of high quality.

We now offer seed of this very  special range of Mediterranean varieties to all seed companies, and we believe that these colourful, tasty and traditional vegetable varieties will be appreciated and enjoyed by consumers around the world.
