While June is very slow for vegetable production in the Southwest Desert of the United States , this will soon change with the upcoming lettuce season. 

Currently melons are being harvested and growers are sitting down with shippers to coordinate their lettuce planting schedules for September-January.

targeting lettuce seedlots which emerge well under heat, as well as identifying seed lots with low vigor. This type of early detection of weaker lots can prevent many problems from arising later in a commercial field. 

We have asked our customers participate in these trials by giving us samples of their carry-over primed lettuce seed. 

INCOTEC will then inform each participant as to where their specific plots are located so they can evaluate them. In the past these Heat Stress Trials have been a success, and customers have found them to be a useful tool in their business.
