This new variety has an attractive purplish red colour and a very low rate of "double bulbs". This is a big advantage compared to Red Creole, which is a very popular variety but give a lot of small non-marketable divided bulbs. Moreover, maturity has been improved so that Gao is now 10 days earlier than Red Creole.
