STA Laboratories moves to its new facilities in Colorado

STA Laboratories has recently moved to its new laboratory and office facility in Longmont, Colorado. The 8800 sq. ft. building features four separate laboratories, three 8X10 walk-in germinators/growth rooms and a 2200 sq. ft. climate controlled greenhouse. The facility brings the total laboratory space for STA services to over 17,000 sq. ft. and increases available greenhouse space to over 30,000 sq. ft.

The Colorado facility is a major part of STA Laboratories long range plans to increase its capacity to meet the turnaround and quality assurance demands of our clients.

In the last two years STA Laboratories has:

  • Built a new laboratory facility in Colorado
  • Secured over 30,000 sq. ft. of greenhouse space for BFB testing
  • Automated the temperature and relative humidity control systems of most of the greenhouses to maintain stringent condition parameters (in process).
  • Opened a seed analysis laboratory in its California facility,
  • Upgraded its information system, including the soon-to-completed test tracking system
  • Upgraded and increased our germination capacity for seed analysis testing.
  • Added testing services for Genetically Enhanced traits by ELISA or PCR.

STA Laboratories was established in 1987 and is now in its 15th year of providing services with superior customer service to the seed and other agricultural industries. Over 1000 companies and agencies, worldwide, have utilized the services of STA Laboratories. STA employs
25 professionals and technicians with training in plant pathology, molecular biology, seed technology, biochemistry, microbiology and other biological fields.
