Danson Seed releases Gavilan, a new determinate Saladette tomato

Danson Seed Company, Inc. announces the first limited release in a series of new determinate saladette tomatoes. 

Saladette 1080, now named Gavilan, is the earliest maturing saladette in the Los Mochis and Culiacan production areas of Mexico.  It is about 10-14 days earlier than Maya the current standard.  Gavilan has a very concentrated set of fruit that are quite uniform for size, shape, and maturity.  The plant is very compact and should be planted quite close together in either ground our stake culture.  This allows for higher plant population and a high volume of production early. 

Gavilan was developed for its tolerance to white fly.  Gavilan is tolerant to: VFFTMVNTYLCVASCSTBWBsp
