Post-doctoral applications researching perennial ryegrass

ViaLactia Biosciences (NZ) Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Fonterra, will support the application of up to three New Zealand Science & Technology Post-Doctoral Fellowships (please email for notes and application form).

The successful applicants will gain 3 years experience researching molecular improvement of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) at a major agricultural university in USA.

Research topics of interest include:

  • Integration of functional genomics and grass transformation for the development of drought tolerant grasses; and
  • Development of protocols for the integration of complete BAC vectors into pasture plants.

Upon successful completion of the post-doctoral research, the researcher is likely to be offered employment in New Zealand by ViaLactia.
