Seminars to Educate Current and Potential Users
on How the System Helps Companies Conduct Effective and
Efficient E-Business Within Ag Community
RAPID, Inc., a
not-for-profit organization that enables agricultural businesses
in achieving the economic and stewardship benefits of
e-commerce, today announced that they will host two online
seminars next week to educate potential users on the benefits of
the Agriculture Industry Identification System (AGIIS).
Launched in
2003, AGIIS is the first ever online and integrated supply chain
database for the agriculture industry. With over 60 leading
industry companies participating in AGIIS, the database is
quickly proving that it can help companies conduct business
faster, more efficiently, more effectively and at a reduced
cost.
"When we
launched AGIIS last year, there was a tremendous response by
companies in the Ag industry because of its' immediate benefits.
For years, the Ag supply chain was dominated by expensive, time
consuming antiquated processes. With AGIIS, all those worries
are no more," said Ron Farrell, executive director and
president, RAPID, Inc. "AGIIS easily facilitates e-business
between buyers and sellers of Ag goods, while allowing them to
interact and achieve the benefits that technology has brought to
so many other industries. The online seminars aim to educate
those interested in AGIIS on its' full potential."
AGIIS
provides:
- Easy identification of
customers and suppliers - AGIIS provides a unique core that
companies and their trading partners can use to communicate.
- Immediate product ID -
AGIIS provides a place for companies to cross reference
products that they purchase from a supplier with their own
internal ID. Product changes and updates are sent to the
company automatically.
- Location identification -
AGIIS creates industry standard codes for locations, including
ship-to and drop-ship IDs.
The
seminars will be held on February 2nd and 6th at Noon EST.
