Super-Sod chosen by Turner South TV Series: U.S. South’s largest sod company brings ‘Lifetime Lawns’ to “Bushwhacked” families
Lakeland, Georgia
December 21, 2005

Super-Sod®, a division of the Patten Seed Company, will continue to make troubled lawns greener across the South next year as turfgrass sod supplier of the Turner South Network’s “Bushwhacked” series.

“Bushwhacked” is a television series dedicated to rejuvenating the landscaping eyesores of the South – one neighborhood at a time.  The series co-hosts, Christine Pullara and Justin Cave tackle and tame the unruly yard in a neighborhood of beautifully manicured lawns, surprising the homeowners with a “lifetime “super” sod lawn”, easy-to-maintain plants and an updated look.

Super-Sod was selected by the Turner South Production company of Bushwhacked during the series inaugural season of 2005.   Turner recently announced its renewal with of Bushwhacked for the 2006 television season.

“This is an ideal fit for Patten Seed’s Super Sod because our products have such a natural relationship with the program,” said Patten Seed Co. President Ben Copeland Sr.  “For example, in an episode shot in Stone Mountain (Ga.), “Bushwhacked” reclaimed a homeowner’s landscape with a new Zenith™ Zoysia lifetime lawn while explaining to viewers how to prepare a lawn for sodding.”

“Bushwhacked” debuted last July and episodes have been shot in various cities and towns around the southeast, from the Carolinas to Alabama.

Turner South, a 24-hour regional entertainment network presents a lineup of original programming, movies, regional news and sports to cable and DBS affiliates to more than 8 million homes in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.  It is the only regional entertainment network rated nationally by Neilsen.

Patten Seed also produces and markets TifBlair™ centipede seed, Zenith™ Zoysia seed and Super-Sod across the Sunbelt.
