Since 1946 Sortex has grown
to become an industry leader in optical sorting equipment that
has made a major contribution to operational efficiency and
improved quality in all food industry sectors as well as in many
other industries where precise sorting is critical
When
the company was acquired by the Swiss
Buhler Group in 1994 it
retained its name and the machines it produced continued to
carry Sortex branding. With immediate effect, that will change.
While Sortex is retained as a company name that will continue to
be carried on the equipment, branding will be identified by the
Buhler logo.
Explaining the reason for the change, Managing Director Bruno
Kilshaw said, “Buhler’s many affiliated companies have a global
reach in diverse industries. This change is being made to
strengthen the Buhler image as a whole and unite all its
component companies under a single high profile brand. We shall
be able to develop more powerful marketing communications and at
the same time reduce costs. An important consequence is the
redevelopment of our web site, which will be even more
informative, easier to navigate and visually appealing. It will
reflect our aspirations more clearly and will be a much more
positive force in our corporate communications.
“Across all the group’s target markets there will be an
opportunity to highlight the group’s corporate strengths and to
present its extensive capabilities in innovative technology more
clearly. As in the past, Sortex will continue to lead the way in
developing even more elegant solutions that will meet the
demands of discriminating customers in global food processing
markets.” |
