New soybean program allows Golden Harvest to help growers
Waterloo, Nebraska
October 2, 2006

Advanced Soybean Management, a new program offered by Golden Harvest® Seeds, will help producers increase their soybean production. Growers will benefit from the aggressive program in the field and at harvest, with an opportunity to cash in on incentive payments by increasing their soybean yield.

Always looking for ways to help growers improve their yields, Golden Harvest has combined the program incentive with the use of better management practices. Farmers should see notable increases as a result of improved seed genetics and treatments that grow healthier plants, in conjunction with better timing of insect and weed control for less overall crop stress.

The premium amounts of the incentives are based on an increased purchase of NK® Brand soybeans over the 2006 crop year, crop protection (CP) products used and yield of acres under advanced management.

The benefit of the added income to the farmer comes without the normal drawbacks of other incentive programs. Growers don’t need to worry about crop segregation, yield risks, restricted delivery dates or complicated paperwork.

“Our growers will benefit a great deal from this program,” said Chuck Lee, head of marketing for Golden Harvest. “Through this program, we can help soybean producers get more yield per acre and more money per bushel. That will allow growers more choices and the opportunity to take control of their operations.”

The Advanced Soybean Management Program offers the premier genetics of NK Brand Roundup Ready® (RR) soybeans with the combination of the following crop protection products for superior management:

  • Seed Treatment: CruiserMaxx Beans®
  • Herbicides: Gramozone Max®, Gramoxone Inteon™, Dual MAGNUM®, Dual II MAGNUM, Boundary®, Flexstar®, Reflex®, Fusion®, Fusilade® DX & Prefix™
  • Fungicides: Quadris®, Quilt®, Alto™
  • Insecticides: Warrior® with Zeon™

Golden Harvest’s Agronomy Up Front® research supports the Advanced Soybean Management program. “Various Agronomy Up Front studies have proven the importance of the management practices in this program. For example, the soybean seed applied insecticide management and use guide proves that CruiserMaxx™ on soybeans can give a producer a five bushel advantage over non-treated soybeans,” said Wayne Fithian, manager of Agronomy Systems Manager.
