CLAAS Omaha announces new features in 2008 for LEXION combines

August 23, 2007

CLAAS Omaha announces several new features available in 2008 on LEXION combines, including a color screen CEBIS on-board combine monitoring system for quick and easy access to view and adjust machine performance and a heavy duty drive on selected models designed to handle heavier headers.

"LEXION combines are the most advanced in the industry and built to maximize capacity and productivity," says Bob Armstrong, LEXION Product Marketing Manager. "We are proud to offer growers additional features in 2008 that make harvesting faster and more efficient."

The LEXION's on-board computer monitoring system, called CEBIS, now features a new easy-to-read, color format, sharper resolution and an antiglare screen.

On class eight 580/585R LEXION combines a heavy duty drive option will be available for those using a 12-row chopping corn head. This optional configuration is designed to handle the heavier weight and power demand of a 12-row, 30 inch chopping LEXION corn head.

For fast chopper speed adjustments, a new rear chopper drive tensioner provides the ability to quickly switch chopper drive speed from corn to soybeans and back with the flip of a lever. The lever allows the operator to easily and quickly remove tension from the drive so the belt position can switch between high and low speeds.

Following the successful introduction of the V530 VARIO® header, CLAAS introduces the V535 VARIO header which includes a 35-foot small grain head with hydraulically adjustable table for improved feeding in all conditions. The extendable table provides improved feeding and minimizes loss by extending under the crop prior to contact with the reel. As an enhancement over the V530 (30ft.), the V535 utilizes a two piece split reel and two piece split auger design to provide customers the highest level of reliability and durability.

Also new in 2008 is an ergonomically designed, multifunction control lever providing a high degree of accuracy and ease of use, reducing operator fatigue.

CLAAS, founded in 1913, is one of the world's leading producers of agricultural machinery, including the LEXION combine and JAGUAR forage harvester. CLAAS North America operations, based in Omaha, Neb., include manufacturing, engineering, service, sales and marketing. The LEXION combine line includes eight different models, ranging in size from class 6 to class 9, North America's largest combine model.
