Merger of leading U.S. wholesale brokerage firms

Willmar, Minnesota and Loveland, Colorado
January 15, 2007

MayerSeed, Inc. of Willmar, Minnesota and SEEDLINE, LLC of Loveland, Colorado are pleased to announce they have signed a letter of intent to merge and form a new company.  MayerSeed and SEEDLINE are strong leaders in wholesale corn brokerage and contract production of hybrid seed corn and sunflowers in North and South America.

The continuing complexities of the seed corn industry have changed the role of supply management. The owners of MayerSeed and SEEDLINE, with input from customers, have studied the implications of these changes and determined that they are better able to serve the needs of their customers and their vendors by combining their two firms.

Paul Kjolhaug and Aaron Reichhardt, respective general managers of MayerSeed and SEEDLINE, have a great deal of respect for each others’ companies and both share a passion for serving their customers.  The newly-merged company will allow them to continue to build on the great relationships that they have developed, while at the same time expanding opportunities to better serve customer and vendor needs.  MayerSeed and SEEDLINE will continue to operate independently for the short term and will merge business activities while planning for the coming crop.
