New features on the Claas COUGAR 1400RC have just rolled in

July 1, 2008

Taking the proven performance and efficiency of the COUGAR, CLAAS has added roller conditioners
to the lineup with the COUGAR 1400RC, giving producers the ability to choose the right mower for their field conditions.

Leading the industry with the COUGAR 1400C (tine rollers), the COUGAR 1400RC (roller conditioner) has all the
features one looks for in a mower to benefit their operation – a mower that increases capacity, boosts fuel savings and reduces labor inputs.

“Continuously improving features of the COUGAR to gain efficiencies is at the forefront of all we do, and our
engineering team consistently raises the bar by listening to our growers,” explains Matt Jaynes, Product Specialist.

“We’ve enhanced features on the COUGAR 1400RC to improve drying time, mow more acres per day and increase consistency in the feed quality,” he concluded.

The COUGAR 1400RC is equipped with a front mower conditioner, laying a wide, loose and fluffy swath for quick drying -– making perfect 24-hour silage. This feature is especially important for operators working against the clock in a short harvesting window. Each of the five independent DISCO mowers is equipped with chevron roller conditioners and the award-winning QUICK-KNIFE system for easy knife changing to reduce maintenance time.
Another new feature for the COUGAR 1400RC is the pivoting multifunction control lever. Integrated directly into the armrest of the operator seat, all controls are within reach and ultimate control is at your fingertips giving access to numerous different functions. The pivoting lever simply needs to be extended or retracted to move the COUGAR.

Minimizing drying time enabling you to mow and chop in a day is one of the greatest advantages of the COUGAR. That, and its ability to mow and condition in 45 ft. swaths, permitting growers to switch a fleet of conventional mowers to one self-propelled COUGAR, completing the work in less time, reducing inputs and saving fuel. In fact, the COUGAR is the industry-leading self-propelled mower with the largest capacity and most mowed acres per gallon – saving growers time and money.

CLAAS of America, Inc. offers a wide variety of technologically innovative hay tool, baler and self-propelled forage harvester and combine harvester products to provide growers optimum performance in the field. These products are designed by a dedicated engineering staff located at three different worldwide factories focused on the production and design of harvesting equipment. The design, performance and reliability of this equipment have made CLAAS an international market leader.
