Agrifusion
Limited announces the launch of SEEDLYNX flower seeds, which will
operate as a division of Agrifusion Ltd., based at Maldon, Essex, UK.
Under an agreement negotiated with
Floranova, SEEDLYNX has acquired the varieties and stock of an
extensive range of annual and perennial species, which will be offered
to the international seed trade on a wholesale basis. The new Seedlynx
catalogue is in the course of preparation and will be available to
seed companies on request.
Tony Hender will head up the Seedlynx
activity. He is well known for his long involvement in the flower seed
trade, most recently with Floranova, as well as his association with
the Fleuroselect organization and the Royal Horticultural Society.
Drawing on Tony's extensive experience
in breeding and seed production, and the agricultural seed technology
expertise of Agrifusion and our sister company Lion Seeds, the primary
objective of the company will be to supply seed of high quality at
realistic prices. Initially, the Seedlynx research programme will
concentrate on seed processing and the enhancement of seed quality and
germination. At the same time, a flower seed breeding programme will
be started under the direction of Dr. Sarah hansell, senior plant
breeder, who has previously bred Agristar Linseed and Tyerman Borage,
both market leader varieties.
Seedlynx intends to establish an
individual role in the marketplace as a wholesale supplier of quality
seed products.
Agrifusion is a specialist plant
breeder and seed company focusing on industrial, pharmaceutical and
cosmetic oils, based in Essex, UK.
