June 1999The CORE Group is pleased to announce the addition of
a new member. Doing business as PANAM, Semameris, a Chile-based seed corn
company, is the second largest seed corn company in Chile. Modern seed corn facilities in
Chile produce winter seed corn production for the USA market, as well as seed for PANAM
sales in Chile, Argentina and Europe.
PANAM conducts an active corn research program based on South
American germplasm. Hybrids are extensively tested in South American, USA and European
locations. The CORE Group has included PANAM hybrids in the 1999-2000 testing program
conducted by the Research Team of The CORE Group.
PANAM is an aggressive, forward-thinking seed company that will bring an international
aspect to
The CORE Group. Initial discussions began in December 1997. Further contact and continued
success of the High Cycle Seed Systems label lead to PANAM membership in The CORE Group.
PANAM will represent High Cycle Seed Systems in Chile, Argentina, France, Spain, Italy and
Germany.
"PANAM brings a wonderful compliment to The CORE Group,"
explains Brad Biddick, President of The CORE Group. "The management team at PANAM
takes an aggressive, forward-thinking approach to seed sales and production that mirrors
our current membership. We are very excited about Frederic Poujaud, the general manager of
PANAM, joining us."
