Seminis unifies sales force
Oxnard, California
December 1, 2000

As part of a reorganization program announced earlier this year, Seminis Inc., the world's largest vegetable seed company, is unifying its separate sales and distribution systems in North America.

Currently, Seminis sells its vegetable seeds under three well-known brands - Asgrow Vegetable Seeds, Petoseed and Royal Sluis - and a number of specialty brands. In the restructuring, the separate sales and distribution units of these brands are being unified into a single Seminis sales force, and their products will be sold through a network of independent dealers, except in the Southeast and for certain other customers.

"Seminis remains committed to providing growers with choices, and our brands offer distinct benefits. We are retaining our best products, processes and facilities to improve the service we provide to our customers," said Franco Campana, vice president of sales for North America.
"By making our distribution system more efficient we can refine our other operations such as research and development, quicken the pace of new product advancement and improve the quality of our products."

With the streamlined system, Seminis is able to offer its growers one-stop shopping for quality vegetable seeds. Seminis is the world leader in the development and production of fruit and vegetable seeds. It has its headquarters in Oxnard, CA.
