KWS Gateway Research Center LLC is a US subsidiary of KWS SAAT SE in Germany and conducts agricultural seed research and development, and includes a combination of basic research and product development.

This full-time position heads and manages the entire research function of the research center supporting the global implementation of the R&D strategy.

Responsible for managing scientists and technical staff, and directing and implementing global development of innovative seed plant (corn, sugar beet, and cereal) and research projects. It heavily collaborates with an international group of companies for product development.

This position requires international and domestic travel (approximately 40%).

Minimum Requirements:

• PhD degree in Agricultural Chemistry, Plant Biology, Bioscience or closely related field, or equivalent foreign degree, and at least 2 years of experience developing and coordinating the design, construction and fitting of expanding international research programs related to crop plant performance; managing work plans for trait research and trait development; collaboration with external global crop plant R&D units; and recruiting and hiring a team of scientists and support staff.
• Must also have a successful research track record, demonstrated by authorship of at least a dozen peer-reviewed scientific publications in plant genetics in prominent scientific journals (e.g. Nature, Plant Science, Biochemical Journal, etc.)
