About the position

Position is responsible for the cucumber breeding program and to support the other cucurbit breeding programs at the Culiacan station.

Position Activities

• Lead the cucumber breeding program for the Mexico markets.
• Supervise all breeding tasks, including but not limited to seeding, tissue sampling, transplanting, pollinating, harvesting and seed extraction.
• Support establishment, data collection and harvest of trials
• Manage seed health testing, seed inventory update and seed shipments.
• Support and collaborate within the Lark Seeds breeding team for maximum efficiency and development of germplasm
• Support the efficient use available resources
• Maintain the breeding database

Requirements

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. with 3 years of experience in Plant Science or related field
• Experience in vegetable breeding
• Strong background in plant breeding, genetics, field plot techniques and molecular marker applications
• Willing and able to travel 5-10% of the time Preferred
• Fluent in English
• Experience with cucurbit breeding
