Main Goal

Within the global research organization of the Limagrain Field Seeds Division, and more precisely in the Traits and Technologies research department, we are looking for a Senior Manager to lead our research efforts in Applied Genomics.

The team covers various crops and addresses two main goals:

1. the discovery and validation of genes and molecular markers to characterize and follow the favorable alleles in breeding programs;
2. and the integration of multi-omics data and related-tools to make them available in the most comprehensive way possible for all scientists in the department.

As senior manager your role is both to define midterm targets in agreement with needs of breeders and of Traits and Technologies department and to organize the resources accordingly. Job description

Your main tasks will consist of:

• Devise mid to long term strategic plans to apply genomic data into breeding applications.
• Sponsor and drive innovative projects.
• Coordinate and prioritize the allocation of resources. Propose budget and midterm plan and ensure reporting on the team activity.
• As a member of the Traits and technologies Management Team, you will develop close relationships with other platforms as well as with crop research heads and key external partners to steer innovation.
• Ensure all deliverables are freedom to operate for the breeders and strengthen IP protection.
• Identify and consolidate a network of external scientific collaborators and technology providers.
• Maintain high technical and scientific level of your team.Ensure that all team members follow all the company standards (health, safety, environmental, ethical compliance, government regulations).
• Develop the team collaborators.

Profile

• PhD in genetics or genomics and 5 years of experience in genetic and genomic application for breeding
• Experience in people management.
• Background in bioinformatics would be a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in project management in a matrix environment.
• You are recognized for your good written and verbal communication skills.
• French and English fluency or commitment to learn.
• Highly motivated and strong team player with a great ability to adapt to a competitive and fast evolving context.
• Versatility and ability to consider all dimensions related to the position including Legal, IP, finance, IT.
