USA - Nufarm to focus on native area cultivation at the 2020 Golf Industry Show

Morrisville, North Carolina, USA
December 4, 2019

Nufarm announces plans for the 2020 Golf Industry Show (GIS), held January 25-30, 2020, in Orlando, FL. Concluding its three-year plan to help attendees Connect, Discover, and Elevate, this year’s show promises to elevate the attendee experience in the expanding North/South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center. Nufarm will feature rotation plans for natural areas, highlighting the advantages of Sure Power® Herbicide, Millennium Ultra™ 2 Herbicide, and SureGuard® SC Herbicide, as well as new research detailing the benefits of Anuew™ PGR, Traction™ and Pinpoint® Fungicides, along with many others.

Natural Areas Presentations on Wednesday and Thursday
With the ever-growing focus on natural areas, Nufarm has solutions for making every course the best it can be. Attendees can come by Nufarm booth #4217 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday during the show to hear Rick Fletcher and Aaron Hathaway, Nufarm’s Technical Services Managers for Turf & Ornamental, talk about the care and cultivation of natural areas.

Natural Areas Rotation Plan
Nufarm offers expertise in planning and caring for natural areas on the golf course. With a rotation including Sure Power for tough broadleaf weeds like ground ivy and wild violet, Millennium Ultra 2 to melt away unsightly weeds like Canada thistle, and SureGuard SC to keep dormant areas clean through the winter, superintendents will be well on their way to easily maintained natural areas. Plus, Millennium Ultra 2 preserves milkweed, which benefits pollinators. Attendees can come by the Nufarm booth to learn more about customizing a plan for their course.

Win an Original Grain Timepiece
While learning how to manage natural areas, attendees can enter to win one of two watches from Original Grain. These unique timepieces feature stainless steel and reclaimed wood – the perfect reminder to take time for nature.

Better-Performing Plant Growth Regulation
Anuew PGR delivers performance advantages in several conditions and turf types. On bentgrass, Anuew is long-lasting and more active at lower application rates. It’s also the only late-stage inhibitor to evenly regulate Poa in mixed stands. Anuew provides golf superintendents with the benefit of less mowing and fewer clippings while delivering fast improvement of turfgrass density and appearance. GIS attendees can learn about improved turf regulation, better playability for overseeded ryegrass, faster transition back to summer grass, and seedhead suppression with Anuew at the Nufarm booth.

Dollar Spot Defense and Two Must-Have MOAs
Traction and Pinpoint fungicides offer unique modes of action to help golf superintendents stay in command of dollar spot, including SDHI resistant disease pressure. Beyond top dollar spot defense, Traction is a proven premix and dual-FRAC fungicide that controls more than 19 challenging turf diseases and algal scum on every golf course area, including fairways, greens, aprons and tees. Pinpoint is known for its significant tactical advantage to turn back dollar spot and curb the threat of resistance. It has excellent turf safety and can be tank mixed with most broad-spectrum contact fungicides, like fluazinam or chlorothalonil, for added disease-fighting spectrum in the summer. This flexibility brings peace of mind that dollar spot and broader summer disease threats are in check.

Stronger Weed Control with Celero and Certainty
Celero® Herbicide is a selective, post-emergence herbicide for control of sedges including kyllinga in established turfgrass. Labeled for both broadcast and spot treatment in cool- and warm-season turf, Celero is the ideal solution for difficult-to-manage sedges. Certainty® Herbicide provides unique opportunities for selective, post-emerge weed control in warm-season turf. Certainty works in the transition of overseeded ryegrass to summer grass and speeds greenup, and also offers the flexibility to be applied to a wide range of warm-season turfgrasses including Bermudagrass, Bahiagrass, Buffalograss, Centipedegrass, Kikuyugrass, Seashore paspalum, St. Augustin grass and Zoysia grass.

Welcoming the Third EXCEL Leadership Program Class
Nufarm welcomes the newest group of EXCEL participants into the third year of the program, joining classes one and two for what will be the first class’s final year. The EXCEL program, a partnership between Nufarm and the GCSAA, offers premium leadership training and development opportunities for participants, chosen annually. Program participants will take part in the education and networking opportunities provided at the show, as well as community involvement and further professional training later in the year. Each class participates for three years, completing a curriculum focused on personal development, leadership at their course, and leadership within the industry as a whole. Learn more about the EXCEL Program and how to apply for the next class of membership at the Nufarm booth.
