The Community Attitudes to Gene Technology 2019  report is now available on the OGTR website. The report contains results from the third survey of its kind commissioned by the OGTR, with previous surveys conducted in 2015 and 2017.

The report details the current state of public attitudes in Australia towards genetically modified organisms (GMOs), gene technology and its regulation, including:

• awareness of and trust in the Gene Technology Regulator, OGTR and regulation
• attitudes towards GMOs and biotechnology (including new technologies)
• acceptance of GMOs in areas of food production, medicine and industrial uses
• public perceptions and knowledge about which GM crops are grown in Australia.
