Abstract
Science underpins the work of ISTA and the dissemination of knowledge in seed science and technology is a critical role for ISTA. This is achieved through the triennial seed symposia and through ISTA’s scientific journal, Seed Science and Technology. This issue exemplifies the role ISTA plays with respect to disseminating scientific information that supports the wider work of ISTA through new and improved methods for seed quality assessment, and ultimately contributes to food security.
