Canada - Bayer discontinuing DKTF 92 SC and DKTF 94 CR canola hybrids for 2020 - Performance issues limited to specific hybrids

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
January 15, 2020

DEKALB Canola Field with sun in the sky

After an extensive review of DEKALB® DKTF 92 SC and DKTF 94 CR hybrids performance in 2019, Bayer has decided to remove these two hybrids from the market.

Last season proved to be a challenging environment for Canadian growers across the board. Some expressed concerns about the performance of these two hybrids in particular, while others saw these hybrids perform as expected. Ultimately this inconsistent performance did not meet Bayer’s expectations.

Through a 2019 in-depth analysis, Bayer conducted side by side trials with other DEKALB TruFlex™ canola with Roundup Ready® Technology hybrids and confirmed that the inconsistent yield results were limited to these two hybrids—all other TruFlex canola, straight cut and clubroot hybrids performed to expectation.

We are sorry for any inconvenience the removal of these hybrids has caused growers, and are asking those who have booked DKTF 92 SC or DKTF 94 CR for 2020 to speak with their local sales rep or retailer to find a suitable replacement hybrid.

At Bayer, we strive to deliver high performing hybrids that customers can trust on their farm.
