BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions receives Zidua SC herbicide label expansion for use on potatoes

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
March 24, 2021

BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions (BASF) has received registration for the label expansion of Zidua® SC on potatoes. This label expansion adds to the use application of Zidua SC which includes providing activity on key annual grasses and broadleaf weeds for several crops, including chickpeas, field corn, dry field peas, lentils and soybeans.

Zidua SC’s Group 15 chemistry delivers control of tough weeds, including resistant redroot pigweed, kochia, waterhemp, green and yellow foxtail with a wide window of application from early pre-seed to early post-emergence in multiple registered crops.

“As a long-standing herbicide option, we’re excited for potato growers to now be able to access this important tool,” said Trevor Latta, Brand Manager, Corn, Soybeans & Horticulture BASF. “Applying Zidua SC pre-emergent will help potato growers to manage tough to control weeds including multiple resistant kochia and common waterhemp.”

Zidua SC’s residual activity controls germinating weed seedlings before or soon after emergence and can be used to support a variety of tank-mixes.
