The Dutch variety, Saila, hero against drought and rust!

In 2022, the new DLF turf variety of turf perennial ryegrass, Saila, squeezed through the extremely tiny eye of the needle and onto the prestigious Dutch variety list for sports turf and shot directly to first place as the most wear-resistant variety ever seen. This success builds on many years of dedicated work by our two breeding stations in Denmark and the Netherlands.

To improve the precision of the wear tests, we have invested in a purpose-designed wear-testing machine to help us identify and test even more wear-tolerant varieties. Saila is now featured with the highest quality and finest leaves on the Dutch turf list together with Lancelot. In France, Tammy will cheer up many customers struggling with drought and rust, as this variety comes with superior results on both traits.
