Harris Seeds publishes its Spring 2015 Home Garden Catalog

Rochester, New York, USA
December 31, 2014

Harris Seeds is pleased to announce the publication of the Harris Seeds Spring 2015 Home Garden Catalog. The catalog features a wide assortment of vegetable seeds, annual and perennial flower seeds, garden ready transplants, and gardening supplies for the home gardener. Gardeners will find many new and exciting products to try for 2015.

The newest addition to Harris’ product offering is a line of seeds for sprouting. Harris Seeds has partnered with a sprouts supplier with the highest standards for optimum germination and safety. Fresh edible sprouts are great for growing indoors in the winter when it’s not possible to grow fresh vegetables outside. Gardeners can choose from several different sprout seed varieties including alfalfa sprouts, broccoli sprouts, clover sprouts, mung bean sprouts, wheat sprouts and a few sprout mixes.

Exciting new vegetable seed varieties to try in 2015 include Amethyst beans, a tasty bush been with a deep purple color, Garfield peppers, an impressive big orange bell pepper, Sugar Cube muskmelon, a bonus seed trial favorite from last season, Ghost peppers, reaching over 1,000,000 on the Scoville rating chart, and Goldfinger carrots, an improved Nantes type.

New flower seeds for spring include Garland Orange marigold, a bonus seed variety from last season that received rave reviews. Easy Wave Red and Easy Wave Velour Burgundy petunias, the newest breeding in the popular Wave petunia series, bring a depth of color we haven’t seen before in seed petunias. Bossa Nova Mix begonia’s lush tropical flowers will draw you in, and Rio Carnival sunflower with its high color impact and teardrop petals will look great in borders and containers. Garden enthusiasts looking for something different should check out Glitz euphorbia, a novel flower variety that performed superbly in garden trials.

Customers who are looking for handy garden-ready plants will be happy to see Harris’ offering of the most popular flower and vegetable transplants including tomatoes, peppers, onions, and petunias. Bareroot fruits like strawberries, blueberries and grapes are available for gardeners who’d like to grow juicy, sweet fruit in their own backyard. Along with plants and fruits, gardeners will find live garden products such as begonia and gladiolus bulbs, seed potatoes, asparagus, horseradish, mushrooms and garlic.

The 2015 Home Garden Catalog also has almost 25 pages dedicated to Harris’ expansive listing of quality gardening tools and supplies including seed starting supplies such as grow light stands, heat mats, Jiffy pots and Jiffy pellets; plant protectors including row covers and plastic mulch; watering and harvesting supplies and more.

From quality seed to reliable and durable supplies, gardeners will find everything they need to be successful in the garden at Harris Seeds.
