Consultative meet on enhancing exports of sorghum and seeds from India

Developing strategies to enhance exports of sorghum, sorghum products and seeds through public-private partnership (PPP) will be the focus of a a two-day consultative meet on 17-18 March being organized by the Agri-Business Incubation Program under the Agribusiness and Innovation Platform of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).

The meeting will map challenges and opportunities of all stakeholders in addressing the need to enhance export marketability of sorghum (food, feed and industrial products) and seeds from India with the help of agri-platforms led by agricultural institutions and agencies promoting exports.

It will be attended by an expert panel and over 100 participants from public and private organizations, consisting of exporters, experts from research and development (R&D) organizations, government officials and representatives from the sorghum processing and seed industries.

The event will have exclusive panel discussions on export opportunities of sorghum food products and commodity trading, sorghum-based feed industry, sorghum consumer and industrial products technology, export market challenges and opportunities for seeds from India, market development of new seeds, strategy to accelerate seed and sorghum exports.

Co-organized by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Government of India, the consultative meet will be held on 17-18 March at the ICRISAT global headquarters in Patancheru near Hyderabad.
