Cibus Global to present at preeminent genomics conferences

San Diego, California, USA
April 10, 2015

Cibus, a leader in non-transgenic breeding and precision gene editing, provides cutting edge solutions to modern agricultural needs and global sustainability issues. In the coming weeks, Cibus scientists will be featured among the industry’s foremost scientists and business leaders at the following events, where they will speak about the company’s non-transgenic plant breeding technology, the status of the agro and biotech industries, genome editing resources and tools and how to feed an ever-growing global population.

“These conferences are the perfect opportunity to share the technological innovations and commercial applications of Cibus’ non-transgenic products and hear about the latest developments in the industry from fellow scientists,” said Peter Beetham, Ph.D., President & Chief Executive Officer, Cibus.

Cibus representatives will participate at the following events:

Genome Editing: Foundations and Applications (April 9-11, Crop Bioengineering Consortium, Iowa State University, Ames, IA): Noel Sauer, Director of Technology at Cibus, will speak about the commercialization of non-transgenic breeding technologies. At Cibus, Sauer leads a team of scientists towards the development of non-transgenic traits in commercially relevant crops. The symposium will also look at how to approach the challenge of providing sufficient food, feed, biofuels and bio-renewable chemicals for a burgeoning population.

Genomics in Business Conference (April 19-21, Amsterdam, Netherlands): Greg Gocal, Ph.D., Senior Vice President of Research & Development at Cibus, will speak at the event, which will address topics such as developments and opportunities in the breeding, crop protection and seed technology industries and agribusiness product development trends and challenges. Gocal, who has spearheaded internal programs for Cibus and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, will speak about the development and commercial applications of Cibus’ technology.
