Wyffels Hybrids positions for the future: John Wyffels named chief operating officer, leadership openings announced

Geneseo, Illinois, USA
April 5, 2016

To better serve the needs of a growing customer base, Wyffels Hybrids recently announced the promotion of John Wyffels to chief operating officer (COO) and openings for two additional key leadership positions.

In the position of COO, John Wyffels will be responsible for the finance and administration department, as well as the expanding production and research departments. He started with the company three years ago, serving as vice president of finance and administration.

“As we answer the needs of today’s growth, and prepare for the expected growth of the coming years, it’s important to build the depth and breadth of our leadership,” said Bill Wyffels, president of Wyffels Hybrids. “The addition of John in the COO role ensures we will have strong leadership and continuity across much of our business for many years to come.”

Prior to joining Wyffels Hybrids, John Wyffels worked in financial due diligence with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) in Chicago and New York. He graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2004.

In addition to John Wyffels’ new role, the company is now looking to add key leadership positions in finance and administration, sales and marketing.  These additional positions include vice president of finance and administration and vice president of sales and marketing. These positions come on the heels of multi-million dollar production and cold storage expansion and upgrades.

“It’s imperative we’re prepared to exceed the expectations of a growing customer base and to take advantage of the opportunities in the marketplace today,” Bill Wyffels said. “That means we need best-in-industry products, people and facilities.  These actions reflect those needs and allow us to better accomplish our goals.”
