Brassicas
There has
been a growing interest in the use of brassicas, mainly
mustards, as a rotation crop. In the past, more farmers
were growing brassica crops such as broccoli or
cauliflower. These crops acted as a beneficial rotation
crop with lettuce.
With
growth in new markets, such as organics, as well as a
diversification in crops being grown, farmers are now using
short-term brassica rotation crops to compliment their
plantings of spinach, spring mix, carrots, and numerous
other commodities. |
