Aktualisierung der
Fungizidbewertung durch europäische Kartoffelexperten
Infinito® (Fluopicolide + Propamocarb-HCl) von
Bayer CropScience
erhielt beim EuroBlight Workshop, der im Mai 2007 im
italienischen Bologna stattfand, die beste Gesamtbewertung aller
etablierten oder neu entwickelten Kartoffelfungizide. Wie schon
bei einem früheren Workshop, der im Jahr 2005 in Tallin/Estland
stattfand, aktualisierte die EuroBlight Arbeitsgruppe eine
gemeinsame Fungizid-Bewertungstabelle. Dabei wurde die
herausragende Stellung von Infinito® bestätigt. Darüber hinaus
wurde die Bewertung für Infinito® mit Bezug auf die Bekämpfung
der Knollenfäule auf den Höchstwert angehoben.
Infinito® zeichnet sich aus durch seine außergewöhnlich
beständige und hohe Wirksamkeit bei der Krankheitsbekämpfung und
den lang anhaltenden Schutz, den es gewährt.
Diese Bewertung spiegelt die Meinung der Fungizid-Arbeitsgruppe
wider, die aus mit der Bekämpfung von Kartoffelkrankheiten
befassten führenden Forschern und unabhängigen Wissenschaftlern
sowie Vertretern der Pflanzenschutzmittelindustrie besteht. Die
Bewertung basiert auf Feldversuchen und Erfahrungen mit der

Infinito® wurde zur Bekämpfung der Kraut- und Knollenfäule bei
Kartoffeln und des Falschen Mehltaus bei Gemüsepflanzen
entwickelt und im Jahr 2006 erfolgreich in China, Korea und dem
Vereinigten Königreich eingeführt.
Derzeit wird das Mittel auch in anderen europäischen
Schlüsselmärkten wie Deutschland, Österreich und Polen
vertrieben. Vor kurzem erhielt Infinito® die Marktzulassung in
den Niederlanden, wo das Produkt rechtzeitig zur Saison 2007 für
die Kartoffelerzeuger erhältlich sein wird. Außerdem sind
weitere Produkte auf Basis von Fluopicolide im Laufe dieses
Jahres für die Einführung in Kolumbien und Indonesien
vorgesehen. Für 2007 und 2008 erwartet das Unternehmen weitere
Zulassungen des Produktes in bedeutenden Märkten weltweit.
EuroBlight ist ein europäisches Netzwerk von Wissenschaftlern
und anderen Spezialisten, die an der Bekämpfung von
Kartoffelkrankheiten arbeiten. Ziel des Workshops ist es, die
neuesten Ergebnisse zur integrierten Bekämpfung der Kraut- und
Knollenfäule (Phytophthora infestans) und der
Dürrfleckenkrankheit (Alternaria spp.) vorzustellen und zu
diskutieren. Die im Workshop diskutierten Themen sind z.B. die
Wirksamkeitsbewertung von Fungiziden, die Epidemiologie der
Dürrfleckenkrankheit und der Kraut- und Knollenfäule sowie die
Wirtspflanzenresistenz.
Fluopicolide gehört zu den neuesten Wirkstoffen im

At the EuroBlight workshop in Bologna, Italy, held in May 2007,
Bayer CropScience´s Infinito® (fluopicolide + propamocarb-HCI)
received the best combined rating of all established or newly
developed potato fungicides. As in an earlier workshop held in
Tallinn, Estonia, in 2005, the EuroBlight working group updated
a common fungicide evaluation table. The outstanding position of
Infinito® was confirmed. Moreover, the rating for Infinito®
concerning tuber blight control was increased to the maximum
level. Infinito® stands out for its remarkably consistent and
high-level efficacy and for the comprehensive protection it
provides.
The rating reflects the opinion of the fungicides working group,
consisting of leading researchers and independent scientists for
potato disease management as well as representatives from the
crop protection industry. It is based on field experiments and
experience of the product performance.

Infinito® was developed for the control of late blight in
potatoes and downy mildews in vegetables and launched
successfully in 2006 in China, Korea and the United Kingdom.
Currently, it is sold in European key markets like Germany,
Austria and Poland as well. Recently, Infinito® has received
market registration in the Netherlands, where the product will
be available for potato farmers in time for the 2007 season.
Other fluopicolide based products are also scheduled for
introduction in Colombia and Indonesia during this year. The
company expects Infinito® to be registered in further major
markets worldwide during 2007 and 2008.
EuroBlight is a European network of scientists and other
specialists working on potato disease control. The objective of
the workshop is to present and discuss recent results on
integrated control of late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and
early blight (Alternaria spp.). Topics discussed on the workshop
include e.g. efficacy evaluation of fungicides, epidemiology of
both early and late blight or host resistance.
