Prof. Dr. John Hampton resigns as ISTA President 2010-2013

The Executive Committee of ISTA has received a letter dated November 4, 2010 from Prof. Dr. John Hampton informing them about his personal decision to resign as President of the Association with immediate effect.
The Executive Committee would like to thank Prof. Dr. John Hampton for his continuous support of and participation in the Association. Prof. Dr. John Hampton served the Association as Chair and Member of several ISTA committees, including Seed Vigour, Seed Analyst Training and Rules Committee, on the Method Validation Advisory Group, and as an Associate Editor for Seed Science and Technology. Prof. Dr. John Hampton served on the Executive Committee of the Association since 2001. He was elected Vice-President from 2007 to 2010 and served as President since June 2010.
According to the ISTA Constitution, the Vice-President of the Association, Dr. Joël Léchappé, has taken over the duties of the ISTA President 2010-2013 and will continue as President of the Association 2013-2016. Until a new Vice-President can be elected at the ISTA Congress 2013, the Executive Committee appointed Fracisco Krzyzanowski, Member of the Executive Committee, to serve as an Officer of the Association.
The Executive Committee is united in its support for Dr. Joël Léchappé and together we look forward to fulfilling the tasks of the Association.
