Science is international and thrives on networking. At the IPK Leibniz Institute, this is part of everyday life. Here, scientists from almost 40 countries work together across the boundaries of research groups and departments. But that’s not all: the institute cooperates with partners from many countries and is part of numerous networks. For years, all this has also been reflected in the reports of the IPK Journal, the magazine for the institute’s staff. You can find interviews, reports on current research topics, and articles on former staff members there.
Beyond the possibilities of computerised translation programs, we want to use the "IPK Journal Digest” to generate additional interest and keep as many staff members informed as possible. The most important articles from the current issue in abridged form are summarised in English. This issue includes an interview with Nicolaus von Wirén.
The IPK’s scientific excellence is still in good shape, assures the Managing Director of the IPK. Again, there were many high-calibre publications in 2024, including “Nature” and “Science”. “We also received great recognition from the Scientific Advisory Board for our overall publication performance”, says Nicolaus von Wirén. Successful collaborations, above all with the CEPLAS Cluster of Excellence, strengthen scientific excellence and sharpen the profile. The IPK would like to join this in the future. “This would open up completely new perspectives for the IPK.”
The current issues include interviews with Marcel Quint from the University of Halle and spokesperson of the Collaborative Research Centre “Plant Proteoform Diversity” and Henrik Hartmann, head of the Forest Protection Institute at the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI).
We hope this new offer will interest you and would be very pleased to receive your feedback and suggestions.
