Canada - Integration of AGvisorPRO and xarvio Scouting apps now launching

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
June 22, 2021

  • xarvio™ SCOUTING users can now access AGvisorPRO’s extensive agricultural advisor network

  • Providing instant connectivity to help farmers and growers identify and address in-field problems

  • Ag in Motion (AIM) ‘Ag Innovation of the Year’ winners connect to launch integration

AGvisorPRO Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of their integration with xarvio™ SCOUTING (BASF Digital Farming GmbH), giving Canadian farmers with identified in-field problems real-time access to a local, accredited agronomic advisor.

This launch follows the March 2021 agreement between the two AIM Innovation Program award recipients. xarvio SCOUTING and AGvisorPRO received the AIM award in 2019 and 2020 respectively. The integration will enhance the unique, market leading capabilities of each digital farming app.

Connect with Agronomic Advisors Instantly

SCOUTING users will now be able to connect with agronomic advisors after taking a picture of an in-field problem, such as unknown weeds, diseases or insects, using their smartphone. Once they receive an instant result and high-level recommendations from xarvio SCOUTING, they can connect directly to agricultural experts on the AGvisorPRO platform by tapping the AGvisorPRO button embedded in the xarvio SCOUTING app. AGvisorPRO can provide an instant or scheduled connection to the expert via audio or video chat. Conversations are archived in the AGvisorPRO app for farmers to reference anytime.

“We are excited to see this integration between SCOUTING and AGvisorPRO launch, which gives our users additional help to address issues with weeds, disease or insects effecting their crops”, says Marek Schikora, Global Product Owner for xarvio SCOUTING, BASF Digital Farming. “Being able to seamlessly connect to experienced, local agronomic advisors at AGVisorPRO further complements BASF’s customer support team and local retailer network across Canada, ensuring farmers are able to access the best agronomic advice possible.”

A Collaboration to Help Farmers

“We couldn’t be happier to see our collaboration with one of the world’s leading digital agriculture organizations now helping farmers around the world,” states Robert Saik, AGvisorPRO CEO. “It’s our mission to bring experts into the field without having to be on the farm so farmers and growers can get the answers they need, when they need them. With SCOUTING and AGvisorPRO we are helping farmers improve both profitability and crop health, this collaboration is the perfect example of how high touch supports high tech.”

xarvio SCOUTING users can now access AGvisorPRO advisors through the app by tapping on the “Answers NOW” button. Users will be able to select an advisor of their choice and choose to speak to them immediately or schedule an appointment for a later date.
