After over 23 years in a leadership role within BrettYoung, Wayne Unger will be retiring December 31, 2022. Wayne joined BrettYoung in 1998 and has been involved in the Canadian forage and turf seed industry since 1995.
In his role as Vice President at BrettYoung, Wayne has co-led the Forage & Turf business unit (recently renamed Seed Solutions) and has been instrumental in the growth and development of BrettYoung’s business. Wayne has also been a strong supporter of the Canadian forage and turf seed industry throughout his career, his role as President of CSTA in 2010-11 being one of many examples.
“There aren’t words that can adequately express our gratitude to Wayne and all that he has meant to BrettYoung over the years,” says Lloyd Dyck, Chairman for BrettYoung. “In good times and in times that were more challenging, Wayne’s steady hand and insightful leadership were foundational to our success. His friendship is something that has meant so much to me and all of us here. Needless to say, he’s built many enduring relationships here at BrettYoung, with his many cherished customers, and with our strategic suppliers. There will always be room for Wayne on our fishing adventures and a hot cup of coffee waiting whenever he visits us after his retirement. I wish Wayne and Lynn all the best, and only happiness and friendship in his retirement.”
Wayne will continue with his responsibilities as VP, Forage & Turf until the end of December 2022 and will be actively involved in the development and implementation of a transition plan until that time. This process will ensure a smooth transition experience for Brett Young’s customers.
